Delete empty lines and some other tricks in Emacs

Just another reason to love Emacs.

For example, regular expressions can be used inside Emacs for efficient editing. Using “flush-lines” followed by “^$” will delete all the empty lines. “keep-lines” keep all the lines match to a pattern and remove all the other lines.
